The reorganization has been designed to strengthen and re-focus the administration within pivotal areas of the club and reduce overheads. The changes took effect from today, Tuesday 1st July. The essence and objective behind the move aligns the off-pitch team with the success seen on-pitch, moving the club as a whole to a collective position of force in this competitive professional era.

2007/08 saw the arrival of a new Chairman; John O’Connell, new CEO; Tony Copsey and new Board Director; Steve Hayes. Former London Wasps Chairman and current Director; Chris Wright remains critical in his major shareholder role and completes the strength of the Wasps Board. With these individuals now firmly in place, 2008/09 will see an exciting shift take effect within the commercial and marketing arms of the club, set to rejuvenate the dynamics of the business and take the club to the forefront of the domestic league.

Core changes within the restructure include the new appointment of a Head of Sponsorship. Gareth Lloyd, set to commence in August, will join London Wasps from his role as Sponsorship Manager with Premier Rugby. Working with current London Wasps Sponsorship Account Manager, Rachel Bayes, he will drive the club's sponsorship division alongside Commercial Director, Peter Scrivener and his team to further develop the efficiencies of Wasps commercial realm.

The restructure also sees the marketing and communications department merge. A new team will be led by Nicky Done, London Wasps current Marketing Manager, who moves into the new role of Marketing and Communications Manager. Within the department Laura Brown, London Wasps Media Officer, moves to the new role of Communications Executive and will work alongside new 1XV Team Manger, Kevin Harman to facilitate the media office - the link between these two roles designed to strengthen the interface between the business and playing sides of the club. The new role of Marketing Executive completes the team and is currently be recruited.

Current Ticketing Manager Matt Gregg, and London Wasps Ticket Office team, all based at Adams Park, will continue to work hard to deliver the club's ticketing requirements while the business as a whole focuses on significant improvements within the capabilities of this area.

Within the playing unit of the club Forwards Coach, Leon Holden has reaffirmed his commitment to Wasps, signing a new three year extension to his contract to continue in his pivotal role alongside Ian McGeechan and Shaun Edwards. Within the support staff, Huw Davies takes the official appointment of Head of Strength and Conditioning, leading a team bolstered by the arrival of Terry Evans, fitness professional, who joins the club from Wycombe Wanderers for 2008/09.

On the announcement of the restructure, London Wasps CEO, Tony Copsey said; "The past few weeks have not been easy for the organisation as we have said goodbye to a number of people and we thank them for their time at Wasps. The new structure presents London Wasps with an exciting opportunity to help move Wasps to industry leaders off as well as on the pitch. The re structure is designed to utilise a dynamic set of professionals who bring a wealth of knowledge, drive and talent to the club."
