Last season ended on a high, for the whole club, as many teams brought numerous prestige trophies (League, County and International) back to the Club – a great reflection of the efforts put in by all.Our Mini/Youth section is vibrant at all levels, and last season even hosted touring teams – five coach loads of youngsters from Chester RFC who we played and entertained for the day. The Minis Festival was also a superb day for everyone, with thanks again due to all those involved in the organisation. Last season we have also had two players from our youth section, Huw Marsden and Ryan Bower in the National Team for the Under 16’s having played in three International games at that level – a tremendous achievement and example of the talent coming through the club. Further recognition is due to Tom Wheatcroft, who has joined Worcester Academy, and Sam Harrison, who has joined the Tigers Academy. Very well done to them all.Our club further consolidated it’s place in the development of Mini and Junior rugby in the County, in achieving RFU Seal of Approval – Year 2 status, signifying that our volunteers, practices and policies, all follow best practice, and continue to develop the club. Indeed, our Coaching in the Community initiative continues to put these practices into action, developing Tag Rugby in local schools - a scheme run by our own club coaches and players. The credit for such a successful set-up does not only go to the commitment of our young players, but also to the club’s qualified, enthusiastic and committed coaches, club volunteers, parents and sponsors alike. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all and look forward to your continued support during the coming season. With a full fixture programme to look forward to, including festivals, County Cups, tours, and a full programme of social events this season; new players, volunteers and parents are welcomed into our fully inclusive and growing club – just ask any coach, team manager or ourselves for further details of events or how you can help. Can we remind players, parents and supporters that whilst we encourage competition, we also maintain the highest standards of discipline on the field, and expect everyone to follow our club codes of conduct, enabling all to enjoy the game. Our season has already been kicked off with our Summer School in August, and gets fully underway with a Fun Day on 16th September and Registration Day on 23rd September with teams training from the start of September. We would ask that all subs are paid promptly and please remember that your children are not insured until you have paid. Please remember to use the website, www.hinckleyrfc.net to get all the information you need on news, fixtures, teams, contacts, match reports, and club policies. Finally, we would like to remind you that the whole junior club is dependant on the volunteers that make things happen and would ask that you step forward wherever possible to assist your coach or team manager – they put in huge efforts to benefit your kids, so offers of help are always appreciated. The more volunteers - the more that we can grow the club.We look forward to seeing you all at Leicester Road and wish you a fantastic season’s rugby. Club Colours: Green and Yellow |
