In 2007 - 2008 Chinnor has played its South-West Division One and gained PROMOTION back to National League Division 3 South at the first attempt. We look forward to seeing you at Kingsey Road sometime during the season. Our other senior teams play in various leagues; Canterbury Shield Division 2 (2nd XV), Bucks/Berks and Oxon Premier A (3rd XV) and Bucks/Berks & Oxon League 2 South (4th XV). Most of the 1st XV squad come through the ranks of the junior and senior teams as a result of the excellent coaching available at all levels within the club. Ex-Chinnor players feature also at the highest level in English rugby; Dave Seymour (Saracens), Tom Varndell (Leicester) and Paul Volley (Harlequins). Chinnor boasts one of the best Mini and Junior setups in the country with the Under 17 team reaching the England UK final in 2005. We are also proud to have 2 England Deaf internationals in our Senior teams (Matt Woodward and Rob Hill who are regular members of the England Deaf Rugby squad). Last, we should never forget our Ladies team (The Chinnor Chicks) have continued to impress with recent England Ladies honours for members of the Senior Ladies team. Directions are as follows: Chinnor Rugby Club is situated at the junction of the A4129 (Princes Risborough road) and the Thame Ring Road. From the M40. Leave the M40 at either junction 7, 8 or 8a and head towards Thame. You will eventually come to a roundabout (irrespective of which junction you left the M40 from) Take the exit signposted Aylesbury (A418) After 1.5 miles, you will come to another roundabout. Here take the 3rd exit - 1st exit is signposted "Long Crendon", 2nd exit is Aylesbury. This will take you into a 50 mph area and Chinnor Rugby Club is approx. 1 mile along this road on the left, just before a roundabout. NOTE: The entrance to the car park is just (15 yards) before a mini-roundabout - please be very careful when entering the car park, as some people assume that you are turning at the roundabout and therefore have 15 yards less to stop!!! Please remember that Chinnor is based in Thame, Oxfordshire. They started our lives as a club in Chinnor (a village close by), but that was some time ago. They would hate for you to end up at the wrong place. |
